Today, I have the honor to introduce you to Manthos and his grandmas cheese pie! Manthos is a fellow student in Chania and a really good novice photographer. Recently he started a project, called 9+1 postcards, which is great and you can check it out here. You can also find his incredible photos on devianart, here. As for now, we will stick on this amazingly easy and yet delicious traditional cheese pie his grandma made. Thank you Manthos for your little contribution on myLifebox..
You'll need::
1kg flour
1 glass of water
1tsp salt
olive oil
feta cheese [filling]
How to::
Preheat the oven to 240C.
Combine all the ingredients,besides feta cheese, using your hands. Let the dough rest for a while and then divide it into small balls. Press every ball just a little bit with a rolling pin.Then make groups of three and roll out each group till you make a really thin sheet. Drizzle every dough sheet with a bit of olive oil. Fold 1/3 of the sheet and drizzle the part revealed too. Add feta cheese and roll the sheet. Butter a round pan and put the rolled sheet in a way that shapes a spiral. Do the same for the rest of the sheets. Drizzle some olive oil on top of the pie and put it in the oven. Lower the heat to 200C and bake for 30'.
Thank you again Manthos for your lovely photos and your grandmas recipe!
Enjoy!
